Preparation
- Combine warm milk, 1/4 cup sugar, and active dry yeast in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add all-purpose flour and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Mix the remaining sugar with ground cinnamon for the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
